The only other television station with a radar as powerful is in Tampa, FL.

KATC-TV3 is committed to the community. With the “Safe Families” initiative, KATC-TV3 uses the airwaves to provide important information on subjects like health, crime, consumer protection, and weather safety. KATC-TV joins with local law enforcement agencies, hospitals and other organizations to host annual Safe Families events that heighten public awareness about safety and promote positive interaction with the people they serve. The station has established advisory councils throughout Acadiana parishes, to provide important feedback and oversight.
