About Home for the Holidays

Home for the Holidays is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization and annual campaign of the Acadian Home Builders Association (AHBA).

Each year, the builder and associate members of AHBA build a brand new, state-of-the-art home which is given away in a raffle right before Christmas. Proceeds from ticket sales are dedicated to local, shelter-related charities including Faith House, Foster the Love Louisiana, Healing House – Hope for Grieving Children and Lafayette Habitat for Humanity. Since the campaign’s inception in 2005, AHBA, through Home for the Holidays, has been able to donation over $2.7 Million to these agencies within our community.

In addition to benefiting shelter related charities, a small portion of the profits from Home for the Holidays funds construction technology scholarships at UL Lafayette to help train Acadiana’s future builders.
